Appointments from December 2021

Dear patients

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding as we continue to work though this very difficult time for the NHS.

We know that things are even more frustrating when you do not understand what is happening so we want to keep you updated with what we are doing and why.

As we move towards the winter we are unfortunately seeing many of our staff having to self isolate or becoming unwell resulting in us having to rearrange many appointments. We appreciate the frustration and difficulty this causes. We fear that this is unlikely to change over the next month so have reluctantly taken the decision to move to ‘same day’ appointments only for the GP team for now. We hope to review this as soon as possible in the new year.

Whilst we do understand that this will be inconvenient for some of you, we believe it is more important to ensure we can manage same day urgent need and avoid the disruption of having to rebook and change appointments. This short term change will make it easier for us to adapt to the changing situation and make our team more resilient.

If you need a GP appointment, please send an eConsult or call the surgery. Our reception team will ask you some brief questions to ensure you are booked in an appropriate appointment with someone that can help you. These appointments will be telephone first, and our intention is that you will be able to be seen in person if needed, following the initial telephone conversation/eConsult.
