Weight Management Medication (Mounjaro®)
Access to Mounjaro® for Weight Management
From 1 April 2026, Mounjaro® (tirzepatide) is available for a limited group of patients.
Mounjaro® is a medication that can help with weight loss when used alongside healthy lifestyle changes, including improvements to diet and physical activity.
Who is eligible?
To be considered for treatment, you must:
- Have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 35 or above
- Have four or more of the following diagnosed health conditions:
- High blood pressure (hypertension)
- High cholesterol or abnormal blood fats (dyslipidaemia)
- Obstructive sleep apnoea
- Cardiovascular disease caused by narrowing of the arteries (atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease)
- Type 2 diabetes
What should I do if I think I am eligible?
If you believe you meet both of the above criteria and would like to be considered for treatment, please contact us via System Connect.
Your qualifying health conditions must already have been diagnosed by a healthcare professional and recorded in your medical record.
If you are eligible, we may be able to prescribe Mounjaro® directly from the practice, subject to NHS eligibility requirements and clinical assessment.

As part of our commitment to supporting patients with weight management, we will also be proactively contacting patients who meet the eligibility criteria and have not yet approached us about treatment.
Please do not contact the practice about Mounjaro® unless you believe you meet the eligibility criteria above.
